Mesh Guards, Grills and Anchor Systems

Young trees need protection in the early years of growth to ensure their survival against animals and mankind. In rural areas they are under attack from rabbit and deer that will feed on their shoots and strip and rub the bark from the stems and branches.

Our plastic Mesh Guards are manufactured from chemical-resistant polyethylene which makes them extremely light, easy to carry and simple to erect and store. They are also very resilient and regain their shape after being knocked or pushed.

A new alternative to tube type shelters, the 'Continental' gives shelter without creating excessive heat or humidity levels around young trees. Used on the continent for several years, this system has been improved with vertical and conical strengtheners to enhance rigidity. Its soft top prevents any damage to emerging growth. Pre-formed, Continental Guards - 12 cm diam. Supported with two canes inside, or external stake (ties needed).

The tree protector comes in two diameter sizes 40 cm and 60 cm powder coated finished in black. All out tree protectors are supplied in two halves with corrosion resistant bolts supplied for joining them together before ground entry. Tree protectors are connected to grills by four locking bolts for stability and security.

The Grills are supplied in four pieces and are manufactured in a specially formulated SG Iron, making them effectively shatterproof, unlike most other cast iron products on the market. Available in three different sizes they are supplied as standard with a black painted finish.

The Platipus™ rootball fixing system, including optional Plati-Mat™, remains the preferred method of securing rootballed and containerised semi-mature trees.

The Plati-Mat™ allows secure positioning of newly transplanted trees, whilst offering major benefits over traditional root support systems. Available in four standard sizes, the Plati-Mat™ can be tailored to suit most rootball dimensions. This significant development allows faster installation and provides a greater contact surface area at the top of the rootball or container grown tree.
