Thrift (Armeria maritima) also known as Cliff Rose, Cushion pink, Lady’s cushion, Lady’s Pincushion, Marsh Daisy, Sea Gilliflower, Sea Grass or Sea Pink is a mat forming evergreen plant that forms dense, needle like leaves. Thrift forms tufts or mat straps shaped leaves with a long stalk and dence cluster of pink flowers which are cup shaped and flower in late spring and summer.
Thrift is a compact flower that grows in clumps, with long stems that produce bright pink flower blossoms, in some instances they can be purple, white or even red sometimes occurs. This plant is often found in costal areas, or on marshes. It can grow on dry, sandy or saline conditions such as beaches or salt marshes.

Flowering Time: May to July
Preferred Conditions: Often found on cliffs and near the sea on the marshes and shingle.
