Phoenix Amenity Supplies bring to you a complete range of quality grass seed mixtures for all situations.

Landscape mixtures for hard wearing areas, fine fescue mixtures for high quality fine turf landscaping and low maintenance mixtures for embankments and reduced maintenance landscaping are available. Specialist landscape mixtures are also included for use on road verges, shaded areas and coastal areas along with a mixture designed to increase fertility in poor soils and on reclamation sites.

The contractor covering sportsfield maintenance and construction is not forgotten, as a complete range of mixtures for sports turf areas covering summer and winter sports, bowls and a comprehensive range of rye and non rye golf course mixtures and fine greens mixtures are also available.

This is the traditional 80/20 greens mixture which is designed to give a fine dense sward tolerant of close mowing, leaving a good playing surface as demonstrated on numerous greens throughout the country.

Premier Greens Mix

A superb high quality greens mixture still centred on the traditional 80/20 mixture, but incorporating 40% Slender CRF and 10% Tenuis BTB. This provides a more compact and dense sward with excellent close mown characteristics leading to the high quality playing surface expected by today’s amateurs and professionals alike.

Woodland and Heavy Shade Mix (NEW FOR 2007)

Suitable for establishing a grass sward beneath mature trees in heavy woodland landscape areas or beside large buildings. This balanced blend of species suitable for cold, damp/dry nutrient hungry soils, often found in these situations, will produce a green grass cover in these often difficult conditions. Infrequent mowing is the secret to a successful shade tolerant sward.

Shade Area Mix

A mixture suitable for establishing grass in shady areas, either undertrees or between buildings. The inclusion of a Dwarf PRG will give quick establishment and act as a nurse crop for the slower developing shade tolerant species. It is important to note that infrequent mowing is the secret to a successful shade tolerant sward.

The official Ministry of Transport Mixture for road verges, central reservations and bridge works. A quick to establish mixture that offers drought tolerance and soil stability on slopes and embankments, and offers limited tolerance of salt spray and exhaust fumes.

Legume Fertility Builder Mix

Reclamation Mix (NEW FOR 2007)

A true low maintenance reclamation mixture suitable for land reclamation including quarry sites, open cast mine sites, spoil heaps, and general landfill sites. This well balanced blend of Fescues, Bents, and Nitrogen Fixing Legumes and Trefoils is ideally suited to dry infertile, almost drought conditions with a limited tolerance to metal contamination.

Phoenix Pony Paddock Mix (NEW FOR 2007)

This mixture provides a dense hard wearing sward giving many years of grazing. The Creeping Red Fescue content helps to minimise poaching damage. A simple long term grazing ley, suitable for a range of conditions and ideal for returning disturbed areas back to agricultural use after soilworks. Will provide grazing for all classes of stock and is suitable for hay and silage production. Once sown it will offer a quality fodder for many years.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not include any tetraploid rye grass varieties in this mix because it can be detrimental to equine species digestive systems.

Phoenix “Supreme” Dual Purpose (NEW FOR 2007)

A highly rated and productive long term (5 to 7 years) dual purpose ley mix that includes a quality white clover blend, perfect for a range of livestock situations. Also gives exceptional high sugar silage, plus high digestible aftermaths. This mix can also be supplied without the white clover content enabling efficient broadleaf weed control after establishment.

An exceptional hardy and persistent ley mix suited to a minimum 8 to 10 year duration. Packed with top rated diploid perennials to provide a dense bottom to the sward, making this mix ideal for long term grazing with the flexibility to make hay, haylage and silage. Excellent for combined sheep and cattle enterprises.
